Drumtailor Percussion produces drumsticks as off-the-shelf models and designs unique custom models based on the artist´s specifications.
Design
Drumtailor´s drumstick models were initially designed based on the needs of Finnish drummers. We are in constant dialogue with drummers, trying to understand what qualities and features they value in drumsticks. The development work of drumsticks is guided by the deep interest in understanding the diverse needs of drummers, the courage to try new things and through this process innovate and develop better drumsticks.
Finish
Drumstick treatments and finishing play a critical role for the playing experience. With wood treatments and finishes, the characteristics of a drumstick can be modified and refined according to different purposes of use. In this way, unique models can be made for the most demanding drummers using the best materials and applications. All treatments and finishes are made with 100% organic, natural ingredients and no synthetic additives are used.
Wood qualities
We source the raw materials for our sticks from Europe's leading drumstick wood producers and suppliers. First-quality American hickory and premium Czech hornbeam are used as materials. We process and refine drumsticks in Finland by hand, ensuring their quality according to the highest criteria.
Quality, unique design
Each produced stick is inspected, weighed and tested by hand. Hand-selected drumsticks are sorted and, in the end, each stick finds the most perfect match to make an excellent pair. From the manufactured batches, the pairs best suited for different purposes of use can be selected according to the artist's wishes, e.g. based on weight. Unique finishes are also available for off-the-shelf models.
