Introduction
Vesa Ranta is a Finnish drummer probably best known for his work with Sentenced, a pioneering metal band active from the late 1980s to 2005. More recently, Vesa joined the gothic hard rock supergroup Cemetery Skyline, formed by members of iconic bands like Dark Tranquillity, Insomnium, Amorphis, and Dimmu Borgir. Vesa is also the drummer of The Abbey, a Finnish progressive doom metal band blending atmospheric, melancholic doom with progressive rock influences. Additionally, Vesa plays in Kuumet, a progressive rock band, further showcasing his versatility across various genres.
