Tomi Salesvuo (FIN)

Tomi Salesvuo is a Finnish drummer, composer, educator, and bandleader known for his deep groove, versatility, and strong presence in the European funk and jazz scenes. A graduate of the Sibelius Academy's jazz department, Salesvuo has built a wide-ranging career performing with numerous bands and artists across styles that span funk, jazz, rock, and rhythm-driven contemporary music. He is especially recognized for his powerful yet nuanced drumming style, combining strong pocket, dynamic control, and a keen sense of musical interaction.

As a bandleader, Salesvuo fronts Tomi Salesvuo East Funk Attack, a groove-focused ensemble blending funk, rock, and jazz influences, celebrated for its high-energy live performances and original compositions. Alongside his performing career, he is a highly respected music educator, working as a lecturer in pop-jazz education at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences in Helsinki and leading masterclasses internationally. Balancing artistry and pedagogy, Tomi Salesvuo continues to shape the sound and future of modern groove music through both the stage and the classroom.
