Premium Wood, Refined in Finland
We use only the finest raw materials sourced from Europe's leading wood suppliers — including first-quality American hickory and premium Czech hornbeam. Each piece of wood is carefully selected for its purpose, supported by our knowledge of how different wood species and qualities respond to different musical purposes.
The Refinement Process
From the moment a raw frame emerges from the lathe, each Drumtailor stick undergoes a meticulous, multi-stage refinement process which includes sanding, treating, and finishing every drumstick by hand to ensure it meets the highest musical and aesthetic standards. The sticks are then individually weighed, tested, and matched into pairs that meet our highest performance standards. This careful progression — from rough wood to finished tool — ensures that every Drumtailor stick delivers consistent precision and musical expression.

Finishing is where science and artistry meet. Our organic treatments and surface finishes are carefully formulated to modify the feel, durability, and tonal character of each drumstick. Whether enhancing grip, controlling rebound, or highlighting the natural beauty of the wood, every finish is applied with intention and care — producing sticks that are as refined as they are responsive.

Innovation meets nature in our Natural Grip technology — the world's first adaptive grip treatment solution for drumsticks. Developed and perfected in Finland, Natural Grip reacts to the drummer's touch and playing conditions, subtly adapting to moisture, temperature, and grip pressure. This provides a secure, natural feel without synthetic coatings or chemical additives. Sticks are treated using a 100% organic process, allowing the wood's character to remain alive and tactile while enhancing control and comfort.
